Peace Day 2012 Report - Maringá, Paraná, Brazil
We are a group of eight religious groups that has met for over 8 years. Represented are Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Buddhist, Spiritualist, two African-Brazilian (Candomblé and Umbanda) and Baha’i. We have held the event on September 21 for the last few years. This year, however, we held in on August 13 in order to accommodate the presence of the new Cardinal, João Braz de Aviz, who now works at the Vatican.
Our participation has grown every year, and we now are needing a larger space. The inter-action among the faiths represented is very respectful and many new friendships have resulted. Each group has learned more about each other.
