Peace Day 2012 report from Església Evangèlica de Betlem - Barcelona, Spain
Original text in Spanish with live links available hereWritten by Evangelical Església Betlem Gathering of Prayer for PeaceJust a week ago it was the International Day of Peace. As announced on our website, our church got involved and conducted two activities. In the first, we had a very special prayer meeting. This time we didn’t pray for various topics: sick, concerns, joys—no. In this prayer meeting we only prayed for peace in the world and the end of armed conflict. But before praying, we read different texts: The human dimension of a Treaty for the Regulation of International Arms Trade (TCA), another article on the defense minister Peter Morenés and finally an article written by Jonathan Frerichs on Ecumenical Campaign strong and effective treaty against illegal arms sales. We link those documents because we think they are important to share with everyone.  (Click here to read Spanish version of this article which has live links to these resources in Spanish). On Sunday the 23rd we conducted a special service where the main theme was Peace. It was a highly participatory worship with scripture readings where we are called to be peacemakers, with joyful praise, and prayers. We were also able to share the good news of Jesus where we are called to see, hear and feel the message that Jesus gave us, approaching people suffering.
